After studying photography at BTK Berlin and architecture at Universität der Künste, Youvalle developed an interest in urbanism, exploring the beauty found in the abandoned and ignored aspects of everyday life. Her diverse body of work spans photobooks, installations, printmaking, video, and ceramics. Each piece invites viewers to reconsider their surroundings and appreciate the often-overlooked elements of urban environments.
In 2015, Youvalle co-founded Replika Publishing in Berlin with Freya Copeland. The independent publishing house operates through two branches: Replika Volumes and Replika Artist Books. Influenced by the 'Fluxus' movement, they explore unconventional exhibition methods through printed matter and book arts, providing an open platform for artists irrespective of their location, gender, or career stage. This focus on conceptual engagement and innovative presentation underscores Replika Publishing’s mission to push artistic boundaries and challenge norms.
Since 2021, Youvalle has been an integral part of Bildband Berlin, where she shares her expertise on small independent publishers, bookmaking, and design. In addition to her role as a picture editor at a Berlin newspaper and fine art photographer, Youvalle leads the Bildband Zine Making Workshop. This workshop offers participants the opportunity to learn how to edit and layout their work, transforming their photographic projects into printed zines.
